About Our Transportation Services
The Wayne Central School District's Transportation Department is responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation services for district resident school-aged children to 27 different school facilities in Monroe and Wayne Counties, as well as all field and athletic trips, and services for students with disabilities. The deparntment operates a fleet of more than 50 buses and vehicles, all maintained to the highest standards through regular inspections and preventative maintenance. We are committed to ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of students and staff throughout the district and beyond.
To enhance safety and efficiency, we implemented Tyler Drive, a GPS and student accountability system, in 2024. This program, currently used for students in grades K–12, allows students to scan on and off the bus for accurate recordkeeping. We also use the parent app/website My Ride K -12 for schedules, alerts, and bus updates. Drivers use tablet-mounted maps with turn-by-turn directions, making it easier for substitute drivers to confidently and safely complete routes. The system also allows our office to monitor routes and bus activity in real time.
Reminder: When the district is closed due to weather, transportation to other schools is not provided.
