Our free shop is located at 55 Canal Street Lyons (yellow door). Everyone is welcome no requirements. Clothing and household items are free weekdays 10am-5pm and Saturdays 9am-2pm. This location is also our heating/cooling center for anyone that needs a place to get out of extreme weather conditions. We provide a public restroom, microwave use, coffee machine use and tv use.

United Way of Wayne County Recovery Vouchers

The Recovery Voucher Program is a direct service program by United Way of Wayne County geared toward assisting individuals and families in their recovery/transition from natural disasters or personal crises like domestic violence, eviction, and re-entry by providing a voucher to use in the following thrift stores: Habitat ReStore, InJoy, Cry Freedom Missions Thrift Store, and Salvation Army Family Store. United Way of Wayne County will issue vouchers to eligible recipients for use at participating thrift stores in Wayne County, where quality clothing, furniture, home supplies, and building materials may be purchased at affordable prices.

Eligibility: Wayne County residents experiencing a crisis (natural or personal) or in a recovery or transition process.

Examples may be:

• Fire

• Flood

• Eviction

• Pests

• Loss of employement

• Domestic Violence

• Transition from homelessness

• Re-entry (Post Incarceration or transitioning from rehabilitation)

Family Promise of Wayne County: How We Help Our Community 

Our Core Services: 

• Prevention and Eviction Diversion: We provide emergency, one-time financial aid for past-due rent, security deposits, or first-month's rent to keep families safely in their homes. 

• Emergency Shelter and Meals: We offer safe, temporary housing and nightly home-cooked meals through our transitional apartment program and dedicated network of local host congregations. 

• The Day Resource Center: Located in Newark, NY, our daytime hub (Monday-Friday 9-5) provides families with access to private showers, laundry facilities, computers, internet, and phones for job and housing searches. 

• Professional Case Management: Families meet regularly with a caseworker to set self-sufficiency goals, connect with employment training, and access financial literacy or budgeting classes. 

• Graduate Support and Long-Term Stability: Once a family secures a permanent home, we provide up to 12 months of follow-up support and supply them with a "5-Star Start" package filled with essential household items and furniture.
