Benjamin Carbone has been recognized as a recipient of the prestigious 2026 Youth Leadership Recognition Award, presented by State Senator Pamela Helming on March 20. This annual award honors 27 students from school districts across Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, and Wayne counties who demonstrate exceptional leadership, service, and dedication to excellence.
In announcing the award, Senator Helming stated, "This program recognizes young people who are already making a meaningful impact in their schools and communities. Through their leadership, service, and commitment to excellence, they are setting an example for others to follow.”
Benjamin exemplifies these qualities through a strong record of academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and community service. Ranked in the top ten of his class, he is currently enrolled in rigorous Advanced Placement courses, including Chemistry, English Language, and History of the Americas.
Beyond the classroom, Benjamin is a highly engaged member of the school community. He participates in multiple athletic programs, including soccer, wrestling, and lacrosse. His involvement extends to numerous clubs and organizations, including the Technology Student Association (TSA), foosball club, the media club/stage crew, ski club, National Honor Society, and chess club. In addition, he serves as a class officer.
Benjamin is also dedicated to giving back to the community. His service efforts include volunteering with the Ontario Food Pantry and supporting blood drives organized through the National Honor Society.
With aspirations to pursue a career in engineering, Benjamin continues to distinguish himself as a motivated, well-rounded individual who embodies the spirit of this recognition.
Congratulations to Benjamin on this outstanding achievement and well-deserved honor.
