Wayne Sixth Graders Bring Their Words to Life at Echoes Showcase

Wayne Central School District is proud to announce that two sixth-grade students had their writing pieces selected for this year's Echoes Showcase. Harper Dier's Lip Gloss Emergency, and Travis Holder's Raining in My Town, were incorporated into the production alongside many other writings submitted by middle school students from across New York State.
The Echoes Showcase brings to life “what's on the minds of middle schoolers” through a collection of student-written comedy, drama, fiction, nonfiction, songs, and poetry. The program provides young writers with the unique opportunity to see their original work performed on stage.
This year, Wayne Middle School sixth-grade students submitted 125 pieces of creative writing for consideration. In addition to the two students whose work was selected for the showcase, 15 students earned Honorable Mention recognition, and two students received Excellence in Writing awards. Statewide, the Echoes program receives up to 4,000 submissions each year.
Wayne Central School District congratulates these students on their achievement and commends all sixth-grade participants for their effort and commitment to the writing process.
